seoul shops

These are some pictures of shops in Seoul.  I like the way the old brown brass is at the bottom of each shelf, and I like the way the little springs are organized in the really big springs.  Most of all, I like seeing the shops.  Shops stocked with raw materials for making things, shops concentrated in exciting little pockets of this metropolis, shops full of generations of people with technical skills I've never even considered.

deep thoughts

Here is a simple formula for profound and evocative statements.  Take a statement expressing a generalization and swap the narrower instance with the larger class to form the converse.  The first statement can be trivial, while the second statement can inspire a distant squint and a slow, savory nod of deep understanding.

Every bus stop is a place to wait.  Every place to wait is a bus stop.

Every bowl of soup is a meal.  Every meal is a bowl of soup.

Every poem is a group of words.  Every group of words is a poem.

Every shark is a fish.  Every fish is a shark.

Try it.

This one has you list the capital and largest city for each of the 50 states in the US.
